Information about Dhamnagar

Dhamnagar is a town and a notified area committee in Bhadrak district in the state of Odisha, India. Dhamanagar is located at 20.92°N 86.45°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 4 m (13 ft). As of 2001 India census,[2] Dhamanagar had a population of 18,555. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Dhamanagar has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 61% and, female literacy is 43%. In Dhamanagar, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Vision & Mission

Local Self Government under the statute consisting of the local people as representatives to the Council for carrying out the functions as provided under the Orissa Municipal Act/Rules, for the public health, safety and convenience of the citizens of the town. The Primary object of Dhamnagar NAC is to take up all weather connectivity and communication facility, still light facility and water supply to 11 wards including development of all slum pockets. To promote skill up-gradation and self employment of urban poor and creation of labour intensive work inside slum potential area. The following objectives have been outlined.

Objectives

To look after the health, sanitation, water supply, roads, safety and public convenience of the citizen of the urban inhabitants. This includes improvement and up-gradation of the socio-economical status of the Urban Poor’s.
